Riding Like the Wind

Here's a painting by local artist Ed Newman which he recently painted and promised to share with us. It's called Riding Like the Wind.

There are all kinds of bikes these days, for all varieties of riding. We've got bikes here for family outings and bikes for tearing down the trail. Of course we ask you to be respectful of the other riders you encounter when you're rippin' it.

Hope your summer's been a good one. And if you're in the neighborhood, do stop in to say hello. You'll be glad you did.

Biking Can Turn Your Life Around

Jonathan Simmons, a guest columnist at boston.com, shared a story about the healing power of bicycles. The article shines a spotlight on Jimmy Pereira, whose life was turned around by biking.

Jimmy Pereira believes in the healing power of the bicycle.

"Bikes are good for your health, good for your community, and good for your wallet,” he said. “I know they're not the answer to every problem, but they are a way towards a better tomorrow."

The article details Pereira's descent into crime and how biking became a part of his return to a productive life. Check it out here.
