Equinox Is A-Comin'

"To sit in the shade on a fine day and look upon verdure is the most perfect refreshment." ~Jane Austen

There are beautiful days happenin' this summer and we hope you're getting out to enjoy them. We wanted you to be aware, however, that the 210 bridge between Jay Cook State Park and Carlton is going to be closed for repairs this summer. If you're in your car, you'll have to come in from Scanlon or Black Bear Casino exit off Highway 35.

Despite this inconvenience, the good news is that the bike trail bridge is remaining open. One of the easiest ways to reach Jay Cook Park, then, is to visit Carlton, leave your car here and take the trail up to the park. While you're here you'll discover we have more than a bike business. We service the arts community by our Art Dimensions business and by sharing the works of local artists here in our store.

We also have discs for the local disc golf facility... and refreshments for when you finish your ride or your round of disc golf.

All things considered, you can just stop by to say hello. We love company and always hope that in some way we've helped you have a brighter day, whether the sun is shining or no.

New Biking Stamps a Hit in Minnesota

A KSTP.com news story announced that "A set of four postage stamps were unveiled Thursday morning in downtown Minneapolis, celebrating one of Minnesota's favorite hobbies, cycling. The stamps feature four difference stages of bicyclists, from a young child learning how to ride with training wheels to a BMX rider."

Minnesota has more bicycle riders than 48 other states according to one study. And Carlton Bike Rental is right on the hub of three great bike trails. Getting tired of all this road construction? Maybe it's time to park the car and put your bike in gear.

It's a beautiful day. Get outside and enjoy it. It's Bike Week!
